The American Lunch

To show our appreciation to the guys at the Sant for letting us stay with them, we decided on Saturday to make them the typical American lunch...Hamburgers and French Fries! Some of the guys had never had a hamburger. It was hilarious to see them want to eat the meat and the bun separately with a fork and a knife. So we had to show them how to put them together. We were even able to secure ice cold Coke!

-American Lunch 1 - All of us around the table
-American Lunch 2 - Cenat and Gary
-Funny Gary - Gary laughing...which is an experience all in of itself...somewhere between a howl and a hoot. Also not Cenat in the corner of the picture literally pouring salt into his hamburger.
-Berlot Johnny - Two of the guys
-GwoVent - which in Creole means big stomach. This was the funniest part of the lunch...it is a compliment in Haiti if a guy is a gwo neg (big guy) so these guys got to eat two hamburgers a piece and wanted to show off how they all had guts and how good that is.
-GaryGwoNeg - Gary was especially proud of his belly, seeing where his nick name is "skelet" (skeleton)
-PapocheMange - One of the guys eating.
